The Abortion Ticker

Did you know that 3,589 babies are killed each day in the United States by what people refer to as "abortion." That's 1.3 million per year just in the United States alone!

I recently had a forum conversation with a pro-abortion person who claimed that prolife people were hypocrites for publically objecting to abortions because that supposedly showed no "grace" for those wanting abortions. He also said that Christians did not realize that there were more people involved than "just the baby."

I replied to that person with the following:

"'Just the baby?" Well you are inconveinant to me right now so what if I come abort you? Cause it's "just" you and there are more people involved in the world. And don't you dare get all hypocritical and try to defend yourself or have other people there defending you. They would just be being unmerciful and ungraceful to me, your abortionist.

Your 'logic' (and I use that term very, very loosely) is truly a circus. To quote Mother Theresa, "It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."

I think that you should do something that discourages baby killing rather than criticizing those who are against it and hurt for the cut up, butchered and killed children. I think you should encourage mothers to put their children up for adoption rather than killing them. That might sound radical to the heartless, but to the merciful, it is obviously a much better choice than killing."
And so, I'm deciding to step up my efforts to raise awareness of what abortion actually is. A wonderful woman started an "abortion ticker" on her website where it showed the number of babies killed by abortion since the start of the Iraq war. The reason the war was mentioned with abortion is that people trying to defend abortion sometimes cite the number of children killed in Iraq as being a kink in the prolife armor as many prolife people support the war to liberate the Iraqi people.

According to this wonderful woman, known as the Irish Princess:

"The irony is that most of these complaints come from the party that promotes the murder of children as a "privacy right." I realize that children have died in Iraq, but that does not compare to the atrocity of abortion for these reasons:
1) The only ones purposely targeting children (or civilians) are the terrorists;
2) We do not consider killing Iraqi children a "constitutional right";
3) Americans do not hold marches, rallies, or fund-raising dinners in support of killing Iraqi children;
4) The number of American babies killed by abortion far outweighs the total number of casualties in the war -- including children, adults, civilians, soldiers, and terrorists. In fact, that's exactly what my ticker sets out to proclaim: "
And so, below is the "abortion ticker." If you want to add it to your site, you may do so by copying and pasting the following code into your blog, myspace, website or whatever else online that will work.
